Currently, there is little information pertaining to the airborne bacterial communities of green buildings. In this case study, the air bacterial community of a zero carbon building (ZCB) in Hong Kong was characterized by targeting the bacterial 16S rRNA gene. Bacteria associated with the outdoor environment dominated the indoor airborne bacterial assemblage, with a modest contribution from bacteria associated with human skin. Differences in overall community diversity, membership, and composition associated with short (day‐to‐day) and long‐term temporal properties were detected, which may have been driven by specific environmental genera and taxa. Furthermore, time‐decay relationships in community membership (based on unweighted UniFrac distances) and composition (based on weighted UniFrac distances) differed depending on the season and sampling location. A Bayesian source‐tracking approach further supported the importance of adjacent outdoor air bacterial assemblage in sourcing the ZCB indoor bioaerosol. Despite the unique building attributes, the ZCB microbial assemblage detected and its temporal characteristics were not dissimilar to that of conventional built environments investigated previously. Future controlled experiments and microbial assemblage investigations of other ZCBs will undoubtedly uncover additional knowledge related to how airborne bacteria in green buildings may be influenced by their distinctive architectural attributes. 相似文献

Outcome‐based ventilation: A framework for assessing performance,health, and energy impacts to inform office building ventilation decisions 下载免费PDF全文
This article presents an outcome‐based ventilation (OBV) framework, which combines competing ventilation impacts into a monetized loss function ($/occ/h) used to inform ventilation rate decisions. The OBV framework, developed for U.S. offices, considers six outcomes of increasing ventilation: profitable outcomes realized from improvements in occupant work performance and sick leave absenteeism; health outcomes from occupant exposure to outdoor fine particles and ozone; and energy outcomes from electricity and natural gas usage. We used the literature to set low, medium, and high reference values for OBV loss function parameters, and evaluated the framework and outcome‐based ventilation rates using a simulated U.S. office stock dataset and a case study in New York City. With parameters for all outcomes set at medium values derived from literature‐based central estimates, higher ventilation rates’ profitable benefits dominated negative health and energy impacts, and the OBV framework suggested ventilation should be ≥45 L/s/occ, much higher than the baseline ~8.5 L/s/occ rate prescribed by ASHRAE 62.1. Only when combining very low parameter estimates for profitable impacts with very high ones for health and energy impacts were all outcomes on the same order. Aircraft accident investigation has played a pivotal role in improving the safety of aviation. Advances in recorder technology, specifically Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVRs) and Flight Data Recorders (FDR) have made a huge contribution to the understanding of occurrences for accident investigators. However, even these recorders have limitations such as the evidence they provide about pilots' situation awareness or behaviours. Supplementing audio and data recordings with video has been discussed for many years and whilst there continues to be debate among regulators, operators, manufacturers and pilot unions, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has mandated Airborne Image Recorders (AIR) from 2023. The purpose of installing such systems is to provide evidence of crew operational behaviours in terms of both human-human and human-computer interactions (HCI) on the flight deck. Video alone is unlikely to provide sufficient evidence for investigators. This study examines the additional value that eye-tracking technology may provide through the case study of an accident involving an Airbus A330-300 aircraft which experienced a rejected landing. Currently, the investigation of such events, where crew interaction with automation is critical to their situation awareness, relies heavily on interview data. Such data may be unavailable (in the case of serious injury) or unreliable (based on hindsight bias). By integrating eye tracking technology into an AIR, accident investigators will potentially gain a better understanding of pilots’ visual scan patterns across flight deck instrumentation. In the task of skeleton-based action recognition, CNN-based methods represent the skeleton data as a pseudo image for processing. However, it still remains as a critical issue of how to construct the pseudo image to model the spatial dependencies of the skeletal data. To address this issue, we propose a novel convolutional neural network with adaptive inferential framework (AIF-CNN) to exploit the dependencies among the skeleton joints. We particularly investigate several initialization strategies to make the AIF effective with each strategy introducing the different prior knowledge. Extensive experiments on the dataset of NTU RGB+D and Kinetics-Skeleton demonstrate that the performance is improved significantly by integrating the different prior information. For insulation applications, boards thinner than 2 cm are under design with specific thermal conductivities lower than 15 mW m?1 K?1. This requires binding slightly hydrophobic aerogels which are highly nanoporous granular materials. To reach this step and ensure insulation board durability at the building scale, it is compulsory to design, characterise and analyse the microstructure at the nanoscale. It is indeed necessary to understand how the solid material is formed from a liquid suspension. This issue is addressed in this paper through wet‐STEM experiments carried out in an Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope (ESEM). Latex–surfactant binary blends and latex–surfactant–aerogel ternary systems are studied, with two different surfactants of very different chemical structures. Image analysis is used to distinguish the different components and get quantitative morphological parameters which describe the sample architecture. 基于深度学习的视频火灾探测模型的训练依赖于大量的正负样本数据,即火灾视频和带有干扰的场景视频。由于很多室内场合禁止点火,导致该场景下的火灾视频样本不足。本文基于生成对抗网络,将其他相似场景下录制的火焰迁移到指定场景,以此增广限制性场合下的火灾视频数据。文中提出将火焰内核预先植入场景使之具备完整的内容信息,再通过添加烟雾和地面反射等风格信息,完成场景与火焰的融合。该方法克服了现有多模态图像转换方法在图像转换过程中因丢失信息而造成的背景失真问题。同时为减少数据采集工作量,采用循环一致性生成对抗网络以解除训练图像必须严格匹配的限制。实验表明,与现有多模态图像转换相比,本文方法可以保证场景中火焰形态的多样性,迁移后的场景具有较高的视觉真实性,所得结果的FID与LPIPS值最小,分别为119.6和0.134 2。 相似文献
